Simply put, team thisABILITY is a group of like-minded friends who team up to Adventure Race!

Team thisABILITY started as a company benefit of Support Services of Virginia, Inc. SSVA is a human services company that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live a full life of their choosing in their community. SSVA's mission of 'realizing success by helping others realize theirs' is woven into all that they do. Employees are encouraged to participate in active community events through SSVA's thisABILITY program. SSVA believes everyone has abilities despite any disabilities and being active outdoors is one way to realize success!

As the company owner and CEO of SSVA, Chip Dodd began adventure racing with this philosophy in 2016 and quickly became obsessed with the sport. Since then, Team thisABILITY's adventure racing family has grown. Finishing is great, making it onto the podium is even better, but the best reward is finding out what you're made of along the journey.
